Ghostcrawler, aka Greg Street, the Lead Systems designer, posted today that he is going to “chill it out a little” from the role forums. These forums are the primary conduit for Blizzard to communicate with the fanbase about changes to WoW and the philosophy behind those changes. For the past year and a half, Ghostcrawler has been the daily presence in the forums, offering a unique and exceptionally detailed look at the inner workings of the design process that goes into WoW.
One of the primary complaints Ghostcrawler has about the forums is how his words are picked apart by folks, often times with such a fine scalpel that things which he says are taken out of context and diluted from their original meanings. We’ve noticed this ourselves, in that when we post on something he says commenters will often look past the context of the post (or article we’ve written) and dive right into a uniquely feisty brand of QQ.
As of late the forums have reached a new level of annoyance, with more and more posts being about Ghostcrawler’s job performance and him personally, instead of being about the game mechanics. Even post about game mechanics and design issues

Patch 3.2.2 has brought some new, or rather updated, content and seemingly a few initial performance issues for many. There’s the usual smattering of class and item changes you would expect of a minor patch. You have to look pretty hard to find anything about Warlocks though.
Every other class has its own little section detailing the tweaks and tunings of their class or even specs but what about us? True, it does go some way to bolstering our megalomaniacal nature — we’re just too good to mess with, let these ‘other’ classes change instead. I had to look all the way down to the bug fixes before I even saw the word ‘Warlock’.
So what has been fixed?
Demonic Circle appears to have been buffed to remove the Frostfire Bolt snare, but this is actually a Frostfire Bolt nerf as the same is true of Vanish, Hand of Freedom and Master’s Call. Is a Mage nerf better than a Warlock buff ? Too close too call, its good news either way.
Fel Armor seems to have become somewhat friendlier to trinkets. I’ve not had chance to test it yet but I expect that this is referring to the healing tick triggering trinkets such as The Egg of Mortal

Every week, Raid Rx will help you quarterback your healers to victory! Your host is Matt Low, the grand poobah of World of Matticus and a founder of No Stock UI, a WoW blog for all things UI, macro, and addon related. It’s been a while since I looked at trinkets. What options are there available since then?
Yes, the linked article goes to the Priest column on trinkets. Not every healer’s going to use them. But truth be told, there aren’t that many new options for healers in the current game since Ulduar and Trial of the Crusader opened up. Let’s look at everything available since Malygos.
So what do we have to work with?
Talisman of Resurgence – Sold by the Triumph vendors. This adds an extra 128 Intellect. It’s easily accessible to players who grind out 25 heroic dungeon dailies. It’s less than that if they pull off both 10 and 25 player versions of Koralon in Vault of Archavon. Good starter trinket for Discipline Priests and Holy Paladins. Not bad for any healer who has nothing else available to them.
Solace of the Defeated – The linked one goes to the Heroic version. Good news? You can wear the non-heroic version too. Having both

Well folks, we recently heard that Ghostcrawler announced the upcoming nerf to Armor Penetration in Patch 3.2.2.
I’ll be honest with you. I’m not sure why this is turning into such a big deal is to everyone. I’m not saying I don’t understand the mechanics of the change. And I do see the impact to us Hunters, especially endgame raiding Marksman Hunters. But really, let’s take a step back and look at the reasoning behind the change.
Ghostcrawler said that they implemented this change after noticing everyone was picking up Armor Pen at the expense of their core stats. Really? And somehow we’re surprised that when a secondary stat becomes more important than a class’ primary stat and it forced a nerf? It seems more of a correction in my opinion.
If you’re a raiding Marks or Survival Hunter you should be focusing on picking up as much Agility (Attack Power if you’re a Beast Master) as possible. Hence why in Cataclysm we’re seeing things like Armor Penetration removed from the itemization.
Think about it this way. Imagine if someone out there found out that if you stacked Crit over Agility you could find 5% gain in DPS.

In EMS, we like to call people who ride motorcycles without helmets future organ donors. Unfortunately, most classes in WoW can’t wear plate helms, and cloth makes for poor protection no matter how well enchanted it is. Noamsie of <True Justice> on Aggramar-EU has decided not to postpone the inevitable, and is riding her Mekgineer’s Chopper straight off a cliff and into oblivion. You can’t get to heaven on roller skates, but I guess a winged motorcycle can ride you right into the clouds.
Do you have any unusual, beautiful or interesting World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We’d love to see them on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next!
Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. Please include the word “Azeroth” in your post so it does not get swept into the spam bin. We strongly prefer full screen shots without the UI showing — use alt-Z to remove it. Please, no more battleground scoreboards, gold
